Congrats to Fjell Thyngor on advancing to the Wacken Metal Battle Canada National Final! We know you will do Calgary proud! It was a close race on Friday as Osyron, SYRYN, and Caveat all played awesome sets! BAND BIO:
IMONOLITH was formed in January 2018 by Drummer, Ryan ‘RVP’ Van Poederooyen (ex-Devin Townsend Project/Band) and Guitarist, Brian Waddell (ex-Devin Townsend Project/Band). The pair originally started writing music together for the then untitled band in 2015, while respectively playing in the Devin Townsend Project (2009-2017). Bassist – Byron Stroud (Ex-Strapping Young Lad, Ex-Fear Factory, Ex- 3 Inches of Blood, Zimmers Hole), Vocalist – Jon Howard (Threat Signal, Arkaea) and 2nd Guitarist – Kai Huppunen (Methods of Mayhem, Noise Therapy) complete Imonolith as a band.

IMONOLITH is a hard working and devoted group of accomplished musicians, who have amassed a ton of professional experience touring the world in their various bands over the years. Their collective live experience includes performing on mainstage’s at European festivals such as, Wacken Open Air, Download Festival, Hellfest, Summer Breeze and many more to playing sold-out iconic venues like, Royal Albert Hall and Red Rocks Amphitheatre. In just a few months they’ve amassed a fanbase of thousands worldwide through their Social Media pages.

Calgary Beer Core and Big Nate Productions are coming together to Raise some money for a solid underground music supporter Melanie Sinneave.

Melanie suffers from severe Crohn’s disease, with several fistula tracks accompanied by chronic internal abscesses. She has spent almost three decades living with this disease and it’s escalating complications. Having fistulas puts her at risk for sepsis (blood poisoning), organ failure, and dangerously low blood pressure, among other things.

Western medicine does not have a cure for Melanie’s condition, all that they can do it try to minimize the damage to her body through surgical intervention and the results are temporary. Melanie currently has 3 holes in her colon and has had 16 surgeries in the last 5 years (9 of which were in 2018).

Melanie recently had to go to another country in order to seek medical treatment for her condition that is not available here in Canada. This treatment was another surgical procedure that was done over the course of two months and cost a total of $50,000. She has been home for two weeks, and will find out how successful this treatment was once her healing is complete in a few months.
